Ready for Reading’s Music Program reaches well beyond music skills…it builds community, brings hope and healing, and spreads joy.
Karinganire on the left reading to his son
“Normally I used to be always busy with work trying to ensure the family’s financial stability. This affected my relationship with my son Julian. But after Rwinkwavu Community Library opened, I started to go there at least once a week to borrow a book and read to Julian in the library and at home. Since I started reading to my son my sociability with him has increased. Now he can tell me all of his feelings while he was not before.”

Evidence demonstrates that high-quality early childhood care and education has significant and long-lasting social and economic benefits for children, their families, and society at large. Early childhood (0-6 years) is a critical period in a child’s physical, cognitive, linguistic, and socio-emotional development: what children experience in these early years shapes and defines their futures.
Be a part of ensuring these children and others like them get the education they deserve to become future engineers, doctors and leaders. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and go a long way. Please share with your network of family and friends!
Fun, Free and Fabulous!!!
We at Ready for Reading SALUTE AND STAND IN SOLIDARITY with all the amazing and courageous women in the Rwinkwavu Community who take the bold step of learning to read and write for the first time, launch their own business enterprises, support their children’s education and well-being and become strong local leaders and agents for change.
When 4 year- old Deborah enrolled in Ready for Reading’s Harmony Preschool she was shy, lacking the social skills necessary to participate in our hands-on learning based curriculum. By the end of her year at Harmony she was fully engaged, often the first to respond to a question, share her work or tell a story.
Now in Primary 1 Deborah’s teachers are amazed by how well prepared and far beyond others she and other Harmony graduates are.
